It wasn’t a great day for a football game. With rain flooding Birmingham’s muddy Legion Field and cold winds swirling about, Alabama and Auburn battled the conditions as much as they did one another.

In a back and forth battle where a single play could make the difference, the Crimson Tide’s quarterback, Ken “Snake” Stabler, took matters into his own hands, following key blocks by teammates on his way to a messy, 47-yard score.
